How MyTradesman Is Working Hard To Be Fair
MyTradesman has a responsibility to be fair to tradesmen when sharing an opinion about them in public, especially when that opinion is unfavourable. While most reviewers are genuine, and over 90% of reviews we receive are positive, we are fully aware that behind every review could be an unscrupulous competitor or an unreasonable client.
Because of this, when a negative review is submitted to MyTradesman, the review is not simply posted on the site without us first reading and carefully considering the review. We’ll say it again. The review is not posted on the site without being reviewed by us.
Once the review is published, what can a tradesman do about it?
First, the tradesman may respond to every review (good or bad) of their work and have that response publicly displayed next to the review in question. Click this link for an example of this.
Second, the tradesman may set their tradesman’s profile so that no reviews (either good or bad) are ever displayed. A note is left on the profile indicating that this is their preference. Please contact us to do this.
Third, if a review is wrong on the facts i.e. the reviewer has (or is likely to have) simply got their facts wrong, then email MyTradesman (see our Contacts page). It is our policy to immediately remove any review that is said to be inaccurate and contact the reviewer with questions. The tradesman should say specifically what they consider is inaccurate in the review. Once removed, we then contact the reviewer with the tradesman’s complaint and seek more information about their review.
