Turned up on time on a Friday afternoon. Fixed the problem quickly (hot water valve) and explained what was wrong. He had the opportunity to upsell considering the age of the hot water cylinder, but he said I could wait a while longer before that is necessary which was nice to hear. The toilet leaked and was not sitting level, the bath outlet pipe was in the wrong place and therefore the bath could not be installed. After the previous plumber refused to return to the job, I rang Martin in a panic. He was prompt to assess the disaster with the builder and all alterations were completed within one afternoon. Directional Driller I can't find a category more suitable than 'Plumber' as Chris works in with a plumber (in our case Richard Kennerley from Tackle Plumbing Ltd). His machine can drill under long driveways without needing to dig them up once the pipe is located. A small computer was able to help avoid power and phone cables and the whole job was completed remarkably quickly. Read review

Richard not only did this quickly but also organised a directional driller (Chris Kooger) who was able to drill under the driveway and garage and lay the new pipe in remarkably quick time. This person initially fixed the problem, but then when things cropped up a day or two later, and he neeed to return to fix it, it took phone calls and and him promising to turn up, but then not (and not even a courtesy call to say he couldn't come, etc.) When he was again followed up with another phone call, he then asked what was the problem (despite knowing what the problem was from the phone call days earlier!) This plumber was on time and prompt at doing the job, and the job done was satisfactory but on the high side dollars-wise, unfortunately even though he was informed the machine was new, he failed to remove the transit bolts which resulted in a bill of $180 to repair the machine. Part of this work relates to a small dripping in the w.c. and the tradesman advised I should replace whole toilet system and then they would stand by their work that there would be no more problems. B & B Plumbing told us the job would cost "around $200 " when they arrived on site, and then charged us $339. This was because they "forgot to include the gas certificate". Whan we asked for a compromise at around $225, they threatened debt collection. After we paid them $250, they sent us a further invoice for the balance, and stopped answering our e-mails. Ours was a new home, generally poor workmanship and application to complete all round, for example we suffered water damage to kitchen cabinetry resulting from a leaking tap on our Kitchen Island, also Spa bath was not connected to waste water so that the water flowed from the Spa Bath down into our home office. Written quote for new guttering was 3 times the amount of the other two plumbers' quotes. They threatened me with debt collection but I refused to pay them and they 'disappeared'. After getting a flyer in the mail my 85 yr old mother asked McDermonds to quote on replacing a rusting downpipe. They quoted $621.00. I couldnt believe that so I did it for her. It took me exactly 55 minutres to do the job from moment of arrival to finishing cleaning up and it cost $49.00 in materials, and I am not a plumber. OK, so they came out and did the quote and had to include travelling time in their job but this is right over the top. I would watch out for these guys. Read reviews
